What is Mantrailing?

Mantrailing is an exciting and fast-growing dog sport that’s perfect for dogs of all breeds, ages, and abilities—and for people too! The aim is simple but thrilling: using their incredible noses, dogs work to locate a hidden person, also known as the Trail Layer. Together, you and your dog form a team to solve the “trail” and find the missing person.

It’s incredibly fun, highly rewarding, and—be warned—very addictive!

At Cornish Dog School, we are proud to offer Mantrailing as part of our services. As a qualified UK Scent Sport instructor (LANTRA-accredited) and a BIPDT Security Dog Assessor for Devon and Cornwall, with over 15 years of experience teaching working K9s for job roles, I’m excited to introduce new dog-owner teams to this wonderful sport. Whether you want to participate for fun or work towards badges and skill levels, Mantrailing has something for everyone.
