What is the PETCODE Bronze Standard?
The PETCODE Bronze standard provides a structured, proven training framework focusing on key obedience and life skills. The program covers essential behaviours that ensure dogs are reliable in everyday situations and build their confidence to face new challenges. These classes follow the BIPDT PETCODE Bronze standard, ensuring quality and credibility in your training journey.

Our PETCODE Bronze classes focus on practical and achievable outcomes, including:
• Loose Lead Walking– Teaching your dog to walk politely by your side without pulling.
• Reliable Recall– Ensuring your dog comes back when called, even with distractions.
• Controlled Socialisation– Helping your dog remain calm and confident around other dogs and people.
• Sit, Down, and Stay– Building a solid understanding of basic obedience commands.
• Focus on the Handler– Improving attention and responsiveness in a range of environments.
• Doorway Manners– Encouraging calm behaviour when entering or exiting spaces.
By the end of the course, you and your dog will feel more connected, and you’ll be prepared to advance to higher levels of training if desired.

Bronze Level (6 Weeks)
The Bronze level is designed to establish foundational skills for everyday obedience and good manners. ideal for puppies or dogs starting their training journey.
Focus on loose lead walking to reduce pulling on walks.
Develop a reliable recall, even with distractions.
Master basic commands such as sit, down, and stay.
Encourage calm behaviour around other dogs and people through controlled socialisation. Build handler focus in busy or distracting environments.
Practise doorway manners and impulse control.
At the end of this level, your dog will have a solid understanding of obedience and self-control, earning their Bronze certificate.
Experienced Trainers
Silver Level (12 Weeks)
The Silver level refines the skills learned in Bronze and challenges dogs and handlers with more advanced scenarios to improve reliability and confidence.
Perfect loose lead walking over longer distances and in new, busier environments.
Strengthen recall, including emergency recall techniques for high-distraction situations.
Increase the duration and distance for sit, down, and stay commands.
Practise off-lead socialisation in a controlled and safe setting.
Teach calm handling in real-world scenarios like cafes, parks, and crowded spaces.
Introduce advanced impulse control exercises, such as staying calm around food or toys.
Completing this level demonstrates your dogs ability to perform reliably in more challenging environments, earning their Silver certificate.
Gold Level (Advanced Training)
The Gold level is for dogs and handlers looking to achieve the highest standard of training. This level focuses on advanced obedience, off-lead control, and specialised exercises that prepare your dog for real-life and sport challenges.
Off-lead loose lead walking with distractions in busy environments.
Reliable recall at greater distances and in challenging conditions.
Extended duration for sit, down, and stay in highly distracting settings.
Advanced impulse control, including ignoring food, toys, or other dogs while focused on the handler.
Confidence-building exercises for unfamiliar scenarios, including agility equipment and scent work.
Fine-tuned off-lead obedience and teamwork to enhance the bond between dog and handler.
Graduating from the Gold level showcases your dogs exceptional training and adaptability, making them a true companion for any situation.
